Families

“There's no greater joy than that seen through the eyes of a child, and there's a little bit of a child in all of us.”
- Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, Saving Mr. Banks

What can my family expect at a session?

Each session is uniquely set up based on your family's needs. But most sessions have a few things in common: I love to spend a few minutes walking to our location to get to know you and your kiddos a little bit. Names, interests, things your kids love, things your kids don't love.

I try to gauge how you feel most comfortable. Does your child respond best to high energy silliness to get genuine smiles and laughs? Or does your child need a calm, quieter presence to help them stay comfortable and relaxed?

Please don't hesitate to voice your and your child's needs!

It's always recommended to bring a favorite stuffed toy or blanket with you. And for younger kids, maybe a noise making toy to help get their attention when needed. But let's be real, no one is more motivated than with FOOD! Bring some quick to chew snacks that your child can be rewarded with after snapping a few frames. Some ideas are cut grapes, raisins, goldfish crackers, or fruit snacks.

I like to plan some special "poses" without holding too tightly to them. I'll place you where I think looks best, but I also want it to feel natural to you as a family unit as well! It's ok to engage with your kids, talk to them, give high fives, kisses, and hugs. THESE MAKE FOR THE BEST PHOTOS!

I'll just disappear into the background and keep on snapping!

I believe this gives the best combination of posed, everyone-looking-and-smiling type photos, with natural looking interaction- candid type photos.

I'm here to serve YOU.

Are you a foster parent, adoptive parent, refugee or a missionary?

If you are- I'm now offering a special PAY WHAT YOU CAN package just for you!

There are many things I'm passionate about, but my work with refugee families, my role as an adoptive mother, and my love for reaching people with the good news of Jesus are at the TOP of my list. And I want to serve YOU in that role.

As a foster/adoptive parent I KNOW how precious photos can be to you. Maybe you don't have any pictures of a certain time in your child's life before they were with you, I know how hard that can be. Don't let the investment of family photos stop you from getting pictures now. Let's talk about a PWYC family session!

I'll never forget sitting with a table of my ESL students (all refugees) and discussing that they lost EVERY single photo they ever had of their family, their weddings, themselves, etc. It BROKE me as a photographer. If you're a refugee, I'd love to provide some current photographs to you that you can keep forever.

If you serve as a missionary, I know you're constantly needing updated pictures, especially as your kids are growing and changing. I would be so happy to offer you a PWYC package to help you keep photos updated and take the stress off of needing more. Even if you are a single person, a couple, or a large family- Let's talk about how I can serve you!
